"... Ever since your goal found out that you were traveling toward it, it has been running to meet you." Paulo Coelho What has this ‘sport’ done for me that should cause me to put everything down and focus on it first…. Besides leave me broke and disrespected, depleted and hopeless, standing alone in piles of shame and guilt, there stands no reason to continue in such one-sided relationship. Why, then, do you continue down this path of destruction and despair? This isn’t about my life with track, but the perceptible idea of Love and Will. We deeply hope to believe that what we give is equal to what we receive, but when it comes to the issue of Love, those who love with expectations to be loved in return are wasting their time. Love is an expression of faith, not an exchange. Throughout life, we’ve experienced a spark of life that drives our focus down a specified path. Something grabs our attention and causes a fire of enthusiasm, a fire where we hope to find this life meaning.
“Then we ask the heavens: ‘But what meaning?’” Thus, stands the ultimate question of humankind. There are some who ignore that question because there are no easy answers. The question is too bothersome and requires a form of thought that we unfortunately do not possess. They go on to live life running aimlessly and with no intent, until a time arrives where all that remains are regrets of the past. A time will hit where they regret not making more of their blessings. Others embrace that question, but since it is just that, they go zealously looking for the correct answer. They research keenly until an answer finally appears correct for them. That answer then enslaves them to where they force others to accept, fully rejecting and condescending anyone who opposes, with no room for openness. Life then becomes a cycle of defending that idea repetitively. Finally, there are those who recognize that there is no answer. Instead of spending the limited time battling with the question, their time is filled with the enthusiasm they once experienced when young and without influence. They act by devoting their life to that mysterious enthusiasm. They discover that their actions are linked to a mysterious impulse beyond what we understand. So instead of looking to understand it, they humble themselves in respect and pray that they never stray from this unknown path, a path which they have chosen to travel because of a desire placed in their hearts. To others, they seem irrational and mad, when in truth, they have found true Love and Will. For it is in true Love and Will where we discover the goal and direction of this path called life. The road is dressed in beauty and burden bearable when a person moves through life with enthusiasm and respect for the mystery. For myself, a goal has been molded from the many signs I’ve been given in life. I realize that the justification for the goal’s existence lies in my love for it. Love transforms and it heals for those who decide to surrender to it completely, however, surrendering is not a simple, passive act; and I’ve come to realize that. “Only the person who accepts God’s plan with humility and courage knows that he is on the right road.”
