Special thanks to CreditRepair.com for sponsoring this post, a team that understands a better life is more than a number, but a lifestyle. These opinions are my own experience. “Credit Score,” A phrase that is forbidden in many people’s vocabulary and understanding. The very thought of a credit score could darken any room if you grew up where I grew up. The idea of credit was something that only rich people enjoyed, and less privileged people tried to avoid. You only spoke of credit score when acting as if you know it all, and even then, you may have even misrepresented the true definition of a credit score. They had no reason to pay attention to their credit score. The American dream was working hard, saving all your money and hopefully having enough to make a down payment on a house. A good price on a house was a house they could afford. Interest rate was irrelevant, and home loans were different then. If one could obtain the key to a home, they were satisfied and successful. Times have changed; the very definition of success has altered. More opportunities are available to do what one truly desires. If a person wants to run a business, the opportunity is available. And that is where I learned about the importance of your credit score. Unfortunately, it took until my early 20s to finally grasp the importance, after obtaining three bachelor’s degrees and a masters. I was young with an eager mind to “change the world!” I had business ideas that, at the time, needed to come to life. (Again, I was young and invincible haha). But if I were to change the world, I needed a means to get myself to all parts of the world, so a car was needed.
I pride myself on knowing as much as I can before making any moves, that is the introvert in me. But when sitting on the other side of the finance desk, feeling helpless, I made it a mission to know more. WHAT IS CREDIT REPAIR Credit is made up of two parts, your credit score and your credit report. Your credit score is seen as your financial reputation, where lenders use to determine the kind of loan you can qualify for, whether that loan is for vehicles, homes, or even businesses. The financial reputation is generated from information on your credit report, a history that helps lenders gauge your reliability to repay on loans given. Your entire financial history is on this, from anything like loan information to late payments made. Negative information on the report can have a negative impact on your score, and essentially your opportunity to “change the world.” Now, how can one even know where to start when trying to build this financial reputation? That is where CreditRepair.com comes into play! Recently, I had the pleasure to have a conversation with a representative about my own credit, taking away the dreadful notion that comes about when looking into credit. I learned of easy ways to positively affect my credit and seen items that were inaccurate in my history, like an old hospital bill that was mistakenly reported. A simple correction like that can give you the score you deserved and earned! CreditRepair.com can provide comfort in a distressing topic by highlighting the negative items impacting your credit, and offering plans of action to try to correct the situation, like paying down debt and diversifying the types of credit you possess.
I am more confident now, knowing that opportunities for success are no longer being held back by financial burdens. The young, eager mind I once had in college is very much building up with more business ideas to “change the world!” Know that #BetterCreditBetterLife is possible.
